CHEFS 
Louis Mallon
Head Chef of Comber
Louis is our new Head Chef in our Comber branch and is primarily involved in developing the new Bistro evenings. Formerly Head Chef of the Advocate Restaurant and trained by Chef Alan Higginson of No27 Talbot Street fame.
 
Louis has brought a completely new dimension to our company and he has quickly established himself with some stunning dishes using seasonal and local produce. We expect big things in Comber with Louis at the helm.

Kelly Anne Kennedy
Chef
Kelly Anne joined the Sugarcane team in October 2008 and has equiped herself well with rising to a challenge. Enthusiastic and keen to learn more skills she has somewhat been thrown in at the deep but has shown tenacity and commitment. She will be taking some time off in 2010 with a new addition to the family. We wish her all the best.



SHOP SUPERVISORS 
Paul Baxter
Floor Supervisor at Belfast
Paul joined us from Costa Coffee. Having been the manger in the City Airport branch of Costa he brings excellent skills and customer service to Sugarcane, Belfast.

Andrea Ross
Floor Supervisor at Comber
Andrea has been with Sugarcane for over a year and has always shown the ability and level headedness needed to make sure the customer is always looked after. She was the natural choice to fill the vacant position and we wish her all the best in her new post.

Carla Schofield
Trainee Chef
Carla migrated from the Comber Branch and is now studying under owner and Head Chef Philip Gourley. A great baker and quick learner she will undoubtedly learn many new skills.
 
Update
 
Carla recently gained her first professional qualification in Professional Cookery at Level 2 and is now back at college on day release studying for her Level 3.

PHILIP GOURLEY
DIRECTOR
Philip has been cooking for over 22yrs in a variety of top establishments. As well as being a director of Sugarcane,Philip also runs hands on the kitchen side of the business bringing standards and quality to the fore. Philips role is also to progress new staff and allow them to learn hands on in a busy kitchen.
 
"We fully believe in investing in our staff to gain the full potential from them. As a result you the customer gets the advantage of better quality food and service."

PETER AND EMMA MCCLEERY
PARTNERS/DIRECTORS
Peter and Emma decided the time was right for a quality coffee shop in Comber. They brought a European feel to the market and decided Italian was the way forward for in terms of coffee.
 
They have extensively drawn on the expertise of Peters families business the Hot Coffee Company and ECC to provide quality coffee beans and machines. They have quickly established the name of Sugarcane and have not rested on their laurels. Asking life long friend Philip to bring the catering expertise to the company they have long term plans to expand the company.
